Dr. Savarese is a Managing Director at Montreux Equity Partners. Dr. Savarese is a board director or observer for several Montreux portfolio companies, including MAKO Surgical (NASDAQ: MAKO), Bayhill Therapeutics, Pivot Medical (Chairman), Avantis Medical Systems, Novalar Pharmaceuticals, and KFx Medical. In addition, he was actively involved in Montreux’s investment decisions in ARYx (NASDAQ: ARYX), Asthmatx, Cerexa (Forest labs), Glaukos, Moksha8, Novostent, Orexigen (NASDAQ: OREX), Pulmonx, Renal CarePartners, Sequel, Somaxon (NASDAQ: SOMX), and Tobira. Prior to joining Montreux, Dr. Savarese served as Director of Business Development and Marketing with the entrepreneurial team at NeurogesX (NASDAQ: NGSX), a Montreux portfolio company focused on the treatment of neuropathic pain. Dr. Savarese started his career in the healthcare investment industry in the Life Sciences Investment Banking divisions at Credit Suisse First Boston and Merrill Lynch and as a consultant to private equity firms and early stage healthcare companies.

Dr. Savarese pursued his clinical training in General and Orthopedic Surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery/Cornell University Medical College in New York City. Dr. Savarese received an M.D. from Duke University and M.B.A. from Stanford University.
