Montreux Equity Partners Names Manish Chapekar General Partner

Montreux Equity Partners, a private equity firm focused on healthcare and life sciences investing, today announced that Manish Chapekar has been named General Partner and Managing Member of the firm.

Since Mr. Chapekar joined Montreux Equity Partners in 2001, he has applied his industrial experience in new business development to private equity investments in the life sciences industry. Prior to joining Montreux, he was a manager of new business development at Pharmacia Corporation (now Pfizer and previously Monsanto Company), responsible for strategic development, in-licensing, acquisitions and investments in life sciences companies and technologies. Mr. Chapekar serves on the boards of Kanisa Pharmaceuticals and Percutaneous Systems and is actively involved with several other Montreux portfolio companies, including Pulmonx, Inc., Skinmedica, Somaxon Pharmaceuticals and TransOral Pharmaceuticals.

Mr. Chapekar received his Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He also received a Masters of Science in Engineering from the University of Kentucky, where he pursued graduate research in cellular bioengineering and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Business School.
